So once upon a time, when music was passionate,
thought-out and not the product of cookie-cutter record label/factories, there
lived a man that went by the name of
Jimi
Hendrix. He wielded a glorious Fender Stratocaster guitar and in 1967 he gave
us some of the most prolific and memorable Rock and Roll music of all time.
Unfortunately, we lost the guitar-god in 1970 in a bizarre vomiting-from-wine
incident. But lucky for us, in the three years of his fame, Jimi practically
lived in the studio.Thanks to this, we now have an album of unreleased material
titled People, Hell and Angels set to be released in March 2013. Considering,
he himself only released three albums while he was alive, it's pretty awesome
to see some fresh material from the legend. ROCK AND ROLL.
Rock fan or not, check out Jimi's iconic performance of the Star Spangled Banner at 1969's Woodstock festival. It's said to represent his disgust with America's then involvement in the Vietnam War.
